Hi everyone,
Jenny here. Today has been a whirlwind day. I’m sitting in the waiting room of a critical care veterinary hospital. It’s almost 8:00 pm and the day isn’t over yet.
Bob spent the day with Dr Kenny and her amazing team. They checked him from stem to stern:
Ultrasound of his GI tract. Results - no cancer. BUT…they identified that his pancreas is quite inflamed.
Full blood work up. Results - lots of issues with his labs. His kidney and liver values were off. And, probably the most shocking was that his potassium levels were dangerously low. Per Dr Kenny, this could explain the extreme weakness in his hindquarters.
With this info, there are a couple of things we discussed:
This could be pancreatitis.
This could be pancreatic cancer.
It could be a mix of issues coming together to form the perfect storm.
One thing was certain…Bob is quite ill and needs to be hospitalized in an ICU where he can get round the clock advanced care. Dr Kenny called me around 7:00 pm with the lab results and encouraged me to get him hospitalized tonight. She had graciously already spoken to an ER doc at the hospital and they said they could accept him and to bring him in.
That’s about all I know at this point. We are basically waiting for the doc here to examine him and determine a treatment plan.
I’m sorry I’m so late with the update but things have been quite hectic all day as we try to save my sweet boy.
I am so touched by all the concern and care we’ve received from Bob’s friends all around the world. I can’t express how much your words of concern and encouragement help keep me going.
I will update again as soon as I know anything new.
Much love to you all,
Jenny
Wow. This is a lot. Please don’t forget to take care of yourself, eat, stay hydrated, and get some sleep. I don’t want to see Bob suffer, and I know you don’t either, and you will make the right decisions for him. 🙏🏻❤️
Thank you for the update. Bob knows you love him. And we love you, Jenny and Bob. And the vile beasts at home.❤️
